Two Minute Rule
If it takes less than 2 minutes, do it now.
I've been building the habit of doing the small, relatively easy tasks immediately.
Things like replying to an email, hanging up my clothes or loading the dishwasher. You'd be shocked at how much of your day gets taken over by staring at simple tasks, fighting over whether to do it now or later.
Another version of this is: I have to do this anyway, so I might as well get it over with rather than using energy stressing about it.
This works for me because most of the things we put off are "simple tasks" we don't want to do.
The 2 minute rule works because it has a clear deadline. Everyone has 2 minutes to do something.
