The Power of Belief
It's rather funny but I was an incredible athlete at high school. For our end of year PE assessment, we'd get various tests like 100m sprint, 1500m running, shot put, high jump, long jump, etc. Every year throughout my high school life I would score best in the year or at worst 2nd or 3rd. I remember being confused as to why nobody ever encouraged me to be part of the athletics team.
I look back at this now and realise that my PE teachers weren't good teachers. If they were, they would have recognised that I had talent in sports, and that I should have competed.
It makes me think of the power that belief has. Not belief in yourself, but the belief that other people have in you. Believing in someone creates such a strong belief in the person you believe in.
